comments: Why can we not have football nets on grange park,We all want nets because
it is annoying making our own nets Everyone can use then so please can we have
football nets on grange park
Comment Hi Thank you for your posting.
We did try a few years ago to have some goal posts and high netting around the park at Grange Rd.
This was not what the local residents wanted so we did not go ahead with the scheme.
I would love to see goal posts and nets at each end of the park but if the local residents do not want them, then the Council will not put them on the park.
We are trying to improve the park swings are coming next year and may be some more stuff what would you like to see?
Gary
Hi Emma,
Thank you for your kind comments regarding the Web Site, I'm pleased you like it.
Yes I know about your School not having a Crossing Patrol and all Three Bryn Ward Cllrs are doing what we can to help, but we need more people to walk to School before Wigan Council will do anything to support you and your friends.
Its is hard work being a Councillor but very rewarding when I try to help people who ask for my support.
Meggan has got the School two green bins so the School can Re-cycle cardborad, which is a good example of what I do.
At the moment Im trying to get rewards for school children who work hard at School so watch this space.
See you soon
Gary

thankyou for replying and thankyou for the two green bins
Gary Wilkes. If you are to be a 'councillor' for the ward of Bryn you must keep your thoughts on that area, Bryn.
Stop referring to Wigan as 'Our Town', it isn't, our town is Ashton in Makerfield. Get to remember that. Put Ashton in Makerfield, of which Bryn is a part of, FIRST.
Stop having your photograph taken, posing in front of the Houses of Parliament, dressed in collar and tie, with your blue Mac. and briefcase. You are a 'local councillor', representing the residents of Bryn. REMEMBER THAT!
Comment Dear Mr Hanson
Firstly thank you for your posting.
Secondly our Town is Wigan which Ashton and Bryn is a part of it, whether you like it or not.
I represent Bryn Ward, which from time to time we are asked to attend all kinds of seminars which take place in the Capital, not my choice but we still have to go in order to let the rest of the country know my thoughts and views, which Bryn people play a big part on molding those views.
The picture you refer to was taken about four years ago when I attended a seminar regarding the Environment at Parliament House. I passed on the views of the Bryn People about the Proposed Land Fill at Sandyforth Farm, which we stopped.
If you would like to discuss this further please call me 736478.
Regards
Gary
Gary, I disagree with the comment you made in your reply to my previous message and it really sums up your attitude to the place whose residents you represent.
We are residents of Bryn and OUR TOWN is Ashton in Makerfield, not Wigan. The sooner you realise that, the better.
If you feel the need to promote the town of Wigan over and above OUR TOWN, then I'm afraid you are the wrong man to be representing the residents of Bryn, and you won't be getting my vote again.
Ashton in Makerfield, along with other towns in this metropolitan borough, is being bled dry by Wigan.
Work along with the other Ashton in Makerfield councillors and do something about it!
Gary i have noticed some new lamp posts have been put up on Whitelegde Green and one nearest the corner shop appears to have a camera and arial on it would you please inform us as to what it is. Thank you
Comment Hi Mike,
I will check but I sure its to watch over the Green so people will not fly tip.
We have had big problems over the years with builders tipping on the green so called doing the kids a favour.
Last year a kind person tipped a load of Grey Asbestos to burn.
I will get back to you to confirm this.
Thanks for your posting.
Gary
Mike, the camera is for people that Fly tip on the Green and nothing else.
Thanks
Gary
Thank you for your e-mail regarding re-cycling cardboard.
What I will do is e-mail the Re-cycling officer to see if you can have a green bin which you can put clean brown cardbord in.
I will get back to you as soon as I can with some progress.
Kind regards
Cllr Gary Wilkes
name: megan
comments: why can't we have a bin to put recycled cardboard in at our ladys Immaculate school?
Comment Hi Megan,
The Council have agreed to give the School two green bins for the use of Cardborad.
They will be delivered between 7 and 10 days.
Hope they are ok?
Thanks again for your good point.
Gary
Hi Philip,
I agree with all you have said about the planning Application at 50 Fairlhome Ave.
We need to make sure as many people know about the application as possible, and write in to the Council.
